![]() ![]() After Alex discovers what is going on, he is coerced into helping MI6 out with an ongoing investigation that Ian had been involved with. Through this investigation, it leads him to discover that his uncle was actually a member of MI6 (British Spies), and that everything his uncle did with him while growing up such as learning languages, karate, driving and everything in between was in preparation for Alex to also become a spy at some point in the future. So lets’ have a brief look at what the plot of the show is.Īfter Alex’s uncle dies in mysterious circumstances, he is left in the care of his Housekeeper Jack, but Alex has always been an inquisitive boy and doesn’t believe how his uncle has died, causing him to investigate himself. Except of course for the need to include anything important from the 1st book that is required for future storytelling to make more sense to the audience. The show takes place a bit different from the books themselves (But not in a negative way), with Stormbreaker being forgotten about / removed from Canon and instead the book that deals with Point Blanc is the focus of the tv show and it follows the plan for the book itself pretty much by the letter. ![]() The show has been well-received by fans and overall, they are quite content with what the show gave us, especially considering the sub-par film, but what about in-depth, what did the show do well and is there anything that can be improved upon? The 1st season ran for 8 episodes and as of yet, there is not a renewal for a 2nd season, (Perhaps due to the Coronavirus pandemic causing a halt on all types of production for tv shows). Jones, Brenock O’Connor as Tom Harris and Ronkẹ Adékoluẹjo as Alexs’ housekeep Jack Starbright. The series came about after the failed film in 2006 which resulted in the abandoning of a film franchise but went on to lead the us getting this adaption! The series stars Otto Farrant as Alex, Stephen Dillane as Alan Blunt, Vicky McClure as Mrs. With this review focusing on the tv show adaption which was released last June (2020) on Amazon Prime. Alex Rider is a fictional character created by Anthony Horowitz around 20 years ago and he has appeared in 13 novels, 1 film and 1 season of tv (So far). ![]()
